Opportunity:

Physician - Oncology

Job Details:

• Locum coverage in Medical Oncology at a free-standing cancer center


• Clinic coverage hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM


• Weekend call rotation: Friday (4:30 PM) to Monday (8:00 AM) every 5th or 6th weekend


• Call schedule is 1 week out of every 6-8 weeks


• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients


• Practice consists of 65% benign hematology and 35% malignant oncology


• Average of 25 patients per day in outpatient setting


• Average of 20 patients per day in hospital (call/rounding)


• Outpatient and inpatient services are separate; providers will not cover both on the same day


• Inpatient coverage is a requirement; candidates unwilling to participate in inpatient coverage will not be considered


• Required duties include participation on a Tumor Board, management of Bone Marrow Transplants, Blood Bank, ordering tests, ordering images, and prescribing


• Chemotherapy administration is handled by a Nurse Oncologist


• Documentation system is EPIC


• Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology is required


• Active SC license, BLS, and DEA are required


• Candidates must be able to provide a minimum of 2 weeks per month

This facility is a well-established health system operating a dedicated free-standing cancer center that provides comprehensive oncology services to the community. The cancer center houses a team of 7 physicians and 6 advanced practice providers, delivering high-quality outpatient and inpatient oncology and hematology care. The facility is equipped with modern technology including EPIC EMR and offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment, including Tumor Board participation and Bone Marrow Transplant management.
