Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. Certification. ABEM certification preferred. Licenses. Systems Used. Meditech EHR. Ideal Candidate Features. Proficiency in emergency procedures, including resuscitations and airway management. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and traumatic conditions in a 10,000‑volume emergency department. Perform rapid patient assessments, triage based on acuity, and develop appropriate treatment plans. Execute life‑saving procedures including endotracheal intubations, chest tube thoracostomy, needle decompression, cricothyrotomy, central and arterial line placement, and cardioversion/defibrillation. Manage critically ill patients with conditions such as sepsis, stroke, myocardial infarction, respiratory failure, hemorrhagic shock, and traumatic injuries. Order and interpret diagnostic studies including laboratory tests, EKGs, plain film X‑rays, CT scans, and ultrasound (POCUS). Administer emergency medications including thrombolytics, vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, sedation, and analgesics as indicated. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, mid‑level providers, and consulting specialists to coordinate patient care and disposition. Determine appropriate patient disposition: discharge with follow‑up, admission to hospital, transfer to higher level of care, or observation status. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, discharge instructions, medications, and follow‑up care. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of all patient encounters in the EMR. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes.
