Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Jun 29, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an IMC Cardiovascular (Telemetry) unit position in Alexandria, LA, requiring at least 1 year of telemetry or related nursing experience and current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications. Details IMC Cardiovascular unit in a hospital setting — this is not a stepdown unit Cardiac and telemetry patient population Nurse-to-patient ratio of 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Every other weekend required No on-call requirements 13-week contract Requirements Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state currently in hand Current BLS certification from AHA required Current ACLS certification from AHA required Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry or a related nursing specialty SSN required for consideration Two professional references required for consideration Additional Information Provides nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside BSN is preferred but not required Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate Local candidates are not accepted unless the position explicitly states otherwise American Traveler Job ID #P-720032.
