JOB TITLE: Rail Car Laborer

Location: Dwight

Pay: $18.50/hour

Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Rail Car Laborer to join a growing team in Morris! This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working outdoors, is not afraid of heights, and enjoys hands-on physical work. You'll assist with loading and unloading rail cars, opening and closing rail car hatches, pressure washing, and general cleaning duties while maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Load and unload materials from rail cars safely and efficiently.
2. Open and close rail car hatches and lids.
3. Work on top of rail cars while following all safety procedures.
4. Clean rail cars using pressure washers and other cleaning equipment.
5. Perform general housekeeping and maintain a clean work area.
6. Assist team members with daily operational tasks as needed.
7. Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in a fast-paced environment.

Please note: Candidates must be willing to work in a team setting, have great communication skills (written and verbal), and must be able to pass a background check.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Comfortable working at heights on top of rail cars.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Previous industrial, construction, warehouse, or outdoor labor experience is preferred but not required.
• Must be dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work safely in varying weather conditions.
• Steel-toe boots required.
