Salary: $37,000 - $42,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications

Position Summary: Provide assistance and support for victims and witnesses throughout the lifecycle of a criminal case.
Job Description:
- Assist Assistant District Attorney (ADA) in coordination of witness and victim meetings and communication.
- Proactively meet the needs of crime victims by contacting victims as soon as possible after the crime to establish communication, inform victims of their rights under Oklahoma Law and begin processing victim's compensation fund claims (if needed).
- Coordinate with law enforcement, social services agencies, ADA, court clerk and bailiffs for access and use of the facility and its resources.
- Coordinate and communicate with law enforcement regarding court hearings
- Generate subpoenas and confirm delivery to subpoenaed individual. Follow-up as needed.
- Supervise and coordinate child victim court appearance and prep times.
- Ensure a safe environment for victims and witnesses to wait for court.
- Notify victims of the status of their court case, including scheduled court date, changes in dates and the disposition of the case.
- Assist the assigned prosecutor in seeing the victims and witnesses appear in court as needed.
- Answer questions of victims which they have regarding the court process.
- Advise victims of community service agencies that may be of help to them with both immediate and long-term needs.
- Work with law enforcement agencies, social agencies, and the community regarding victims' rights.
- Help victims of all crime types including but not limited to domestic violence, sexual abuse, and child maltreatment.
- Accompany victims to court proceedings when needed.
- Coordinate and assist with victim restitution and victim's compensation claims.
- Other administrative duties as assigned to support the successful administration of cases.
Minimum Requirements: Must be self-motivated, extremely organized and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision. Must be able to communicate professionally with individuals of all backgrounds. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of case details and victim information.
Education and Experience: Foundational knowledge of the criminal justice system is helpful but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams. Knowledge of OK Grants is helpful.
Knowledge and Skills: Applicant must have both strong written and verbal skills and be able to pass background check.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Predominantly operates in an office environment and must be able to operate standard office equipment, phones and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances and between county offices in the Lincoln County courthouse. Occasional travel to community or victim services meetings as needed.
