Head, Global Oncology Pipeline, Medical Affairs
AbbVie
Lead global oncology pipeline medical affairs strategy at AbbVie, responsible for developing value and evidence strategies across disease indications up to 24-36 months pre-launch. Direct pipeline execution teams, collaborate cross-functionally with development and commercial partners, and serve as primary decision-maker for pipeline-related medical strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead pipeline medical, value, and evidence strategy development across oncology disease areas for US and International markets
- Drive differentiation of clinical and commercialization strategies using market and HCP insights
- Represent medical affairs in pipeline governance and serve as final decision-maker for strategy matters
- Manage pipeline resources and coordinate transition of assets to inline and launch teams
- Define strategy for enterprise MSLs and collaborate on integrated evidence planning and gap assessment
Requirements
- MD or equivalent advanced degree in oncology, hematology, or related scientific discipline
- 15+ years pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience with oncology focus
- Expertise in clinical development, regulatory requirements, and oncology therapy commercialization
- Senior leadership experience managing direct/indirect reports and cross-functional teams
- Strong scientific knowledge of solid tumor biology, clinical trial design, and emerging modalities
- Exceptional communication skills presenting complex science to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25-30%
