Job description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented POS Field Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting point-of-sale (POS) systems at various client locations. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation of payment terminals and related equipment, delivering exceptional service and technical support to our customers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge hardware and network systems while providing vital technical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and set up POS hardware including terminals, printers, scanners, and peripherals at customer sites
- Perform routine maintenance and preventative inspections on POS equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot hardware issues using hand tools
- Repair or replace faulty components in computer hardware and mechanical parts of POS systems
- Interpret technical schematics and wiring diagrams to accurately diagnose system problems
- Conduct network connectivity tests involving computer networking principles to resolve communication issues
- Document all service activities thoroughly, including repairs performed, parts used, and system status updates
Skills
- Proven experience in field service or service technician roles involving POS or similar electronic equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools effectively for equipment repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of computer networking concepts relevant to POS system connectivity
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to customer service
