CAD Designer

A growing MEP consulting engineering firm in the Lancaster, PA area is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician / BIM Designer to support the design and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, and building systems projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, and industrial projects while collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and project managers. Responsibilities: Develop HVAC, plumbing, and building systems designs using AutoCAD and Revit. Create and maintain detailed BIM models and construction documents. Perform engineering calculations including load analysis, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection. Coordinate multidisciplinary designs to ensure constructability and clash‑free project delivery. Conduct field surveys and site visits to verify existing conditions. Review RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings throughout the construction phase. Assist with project documentation, specifications, and construction administration activities. Support the development and implementation of CAD/BIM standards and design templates. Collaborate with project teams to meet schedules, budgets, and client expectations. Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field. 5+ years of experience supporting MEP engineering projects. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM workflows. Experience preparing construction documents and coordinating with multiple disciplines. Knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems design. Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and engineering calculations preferred.
