The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in backend development using Python and Django, along with hands-on experience building modern user interfaces using React. The role requires deep technical knowledge of cloud-native solutions, data platforms, and application architecture, as well as the ability to lead development efforts, mentor team members, and drive the delivery of scalable, high-quality solutions.Role ObjectivesDelivery Key Responsibilities:Lead the end-to-end design, development, and support of applications built with Django and ReactDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance REST APIsArchitect and integrate Azure Cloud services for application deployment, monitoring, and operationsCollaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to deliver comprehensive solutionsConduct code reviews and enforce development best practices, coding standards, and security controlsMentor and guide junior developers, fostering technical growth within the teamOptimize database performance and manage data storage solutions effectivelyEnsure application reliability, scalability, performance, and security across environmentsParticipate in solution architecture, technical design reviews, and strategic technology decisionsSupport regulatory reporting and CCAR-related application initiatives through sound engineering practicesQualifications and Skills RequiredQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field4+ years of backend development experience, including extensive hands-on experience with Python and Django3+ years of experience developing front-end applications using ReactProven experience designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft AzureStrong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and web application architectureExperience working with both SQL and NoSQL databasesExcellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsExperience working in Agile development environmentsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Azure DatabricksFamiliarity with Delta Lake architecture and Delta TablesKnowledge of modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native application deploymentExperience supporting large-scale financial or regulatory reporting applicationsTechnical Skills:PythonDjangoReactAzure Cloud ServicesAzure Databricks (preferred)Delta Lake and Delta TablesSQL and NoSQL DatabasesRESTful APIsMicro service and Micro frontend architectureGit/GitHubAgile MethodologiesSMBC's employees participate in a Hybrid workforce model that provides employees with an opportunity to work from home, as well as, from an SMBC office.
