Position Summary

Fluoro-Plastics, Inc. is a 75-year-old plastics processing company specializing in the compression molding and processing of PTFE.

Fluoro-Plastics seeks an experienced shipper to package and ship its products via LTL and small package services like UPS and FedEx and to receive incoming shipments of raw materials and factory supplies.  In addition, this person may be called on to perform inspections and other quality testing as well as performing some production duties as assigned.

Previous PTFE or plastics experience is not required. Job-specific training will be provided.

Responsibilities

·   Securely package and ship daily orders of finished products

Prepare packing slips, lists, bills of laiding and other shipping paperwork.

accurately coordinate pickups with freight carriers using UPS World Ship, FedEx Ship Manager, or by calling in customer directed LTL freight shipments. 

·   Receive incoming shipments; verify quantities and condition against packing slips and purchase orders. 

Recognize and report damages, shortages and discrepances in incoming shipments.

Load and unload trucks with forklift.

·   Measure and inspect material and finished parts prior to shipment and fill out inspection paperwork.

·   Read and follow sales orders, inspection forms, and other production paperwork.

·   Complete required production and quality records.

·   Move raw materials, finished products and packages throughout the plant.

·   Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment after training and qualification.

·   Keep work areas clean and organized.

·   Perform other production duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Shop Math: Ability to work with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and basic manufacturing calculations.

Measurement: Ability to accurately use a tape measure and learn to use micrometers and calipers.

Computer Aptitude: Comfortable working with computers and familiarity with shipping programs and other programs like Microsoft Excel.  May be trained on quality testing machinery and software.

Telephone manners: Ability to communicate in a clear and cordial manner on the phone that represents the company well to shipping companies and other vendors / customers.

Reading: Ability to read and follow work instructions, production paperwork, dimensions, addresses and the like.

Attention to Detail: Ability to follow specifications, accurately record information, and identify problems.

Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality.

Ability to Learn: Ability to take instruction and learn multiple machines and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualifications (Not required)

·   Previous manufacturing or industrial experience.

·   Experience using shipping programs.

·   Experience using calipers, micrometers, or other measuring equipment.

·   Forklift experience.

·   Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and handle up to 50 lbs. Heavier or difficult-to-handle loads are moved using assistance or material-handling equipment.

Position Details

Job Type: Full-time  |  Pay: $19.00–$23.00/hour, based on experience  |  Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday  |  Shift: First and second shift available
Overtime: Available  |  Work Location: In person
