Diesel Mechanic Technician

Position Overview Ryder is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in New Stanton, Pennsylvania. Replace defective components as instructed and work largely unsupervised. Perform facility maintenance duties. Interact with customers and drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task. Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation. Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT). Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels. Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external maintenance documents. Support operations, including Service Island duties. Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220). Complete 2 of the OEM on‑line diagnostic scan‑tool software courses as required by fleet mix within 365 days. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Vocational or technical certification or a post‑secondary degree (preferred). Three (3) years or more relevant work experience (preferred); minimum of 2 years mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment. Basic tools required. Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance, basic diagnostics, and AC & electrical systems. Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred). Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire. Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc. Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background & motor‑vehicle check (including drug & alcohol verification for the last 3 years). Additional Requirements The position requires driving Ryder vehicles. Must obtain and maintain all required certifications as mandated by location.
