An exciting opportunity is available for a Civil Engineer to join a professional and collaborative project team delivering high-quality infrastructure and development schemes. This role will suit a technically capable engineer who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle, from initial feasibility and design through to construction and completion.


You will contribute to the preparation and delivery of civil engineering designs for a range of projects, ensuring that work is technically robust, compliant with relevant standards and delivered within agreed timescales. You will work closely with colleagues, clients, contractors and external stakeholders to develop practical and cost-effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review civil engineering designs, drawings, calculations and technical specifications.
• Support the delivery of highways, drainage, earthworks, infrastructure and development-related projects.
• Use relevant design software and engineering tools to produce accurate technical information.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, authorities and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with site inspections, progress monitoring, technical queries and construction support.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable legislation, industry guidance, health and safety requirements and quality procedures.
• Contribute to project programmes, cost estimates, risk assessments and technical reports.
• Identify design issues and provide effective solutions while maintaining a focus on buildability and sustainability.

About you


You will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering and have relevant professional experience in a consultancy, contractor or client-side environment. Experience of infrastructure, highways, drainage or development projects would be advantageous. You should be confident interpreting technical standards and producing clear, accurate engineering documentation.


Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with design and drawing packages such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar software would be beneficial.
