Rate and Compensation The successful candidate may be offered a position in either the Public Works Maintenance Worker I, Public Works Maintenance Worker II or Public Works Maintenance Worker III classification. The hourly rate for the Public Works Maintenance Worker I is $18.81 per hour; for the Public Works Maintenance Worker II is $19.75 per hour; and for the Public Works Maintenance Worker III is $20.74.
