Audit & Claims Clerk - 2nd shift

Shift Schedule 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 4:00 pm – 12:30 am. Pay Hourly. Starting rate $22 plus a $1 per shift differential. Tier bonuses: Level 1 – $1 extra, Level 2 – $1 extra. Job Purpose The Audit & Claims Clerk is responsible for processing, researching, and reconciling inventory discrepancies or claims. This includes tracking and reporting inventory such as finished goods, CHEP pallets, PECO pallets, and other product/materials. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Perform physical counts of inventory, including finished goods, pallets, and materials to maintain accurate records. Count, reconcile, and report inventory daily. Accurately input inventory control data to ensure integrity. Complete necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time. Trace item histories to determine reasons for discrepancies and recommend remedial actions. Reconcile customer claims against inventory adjustments and research as appropriate. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager. Additional Responsibilities Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations. Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets. Use computer terminal to account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation. Qualifications Minimum 1–3 months of experience or training in inventory control. Minimum 1–3 months of experience or training in a warehouse environment. Ability to communicate in English. Experience with WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access database. Education And/or Experience Required High school diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to read and interpret safety and procedural documents. Ability to write emails. Physical ability to count articles on shelves, racks, and pallets. Forklift certification a plus. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Solve practical problems in varied and limited-standardized situations. Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form. Determine root causes of problems and recommend corrective actions. Computer Skills Use Microsoft Office suite to write emails, reconcile data in spreadsheets, and create reports. Physical Demands Occasional lifting or moving up to 55 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Use phone systems, keyboards, and buttons. Comfortable speaking in front of others. Work in an indoor/office environment, sit or use repetitive hand motion. Talk, hear, stand, and walk frequently. May work over continuous 8‑hour periods when required. Manage stressful situations, maintain accuracy, and multitask. Good 20/20 corrected vision for reading visual media. Speak and communicate clearly over telephones. Maintain sound physical health; physician clearance required for absence of controlled substance use. Work Environment Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
