About the role
The Head of IT is responsible for defining and executing The Nuclear Company's technology strategy and ensuring the secure, reliable, and scalable operation of all corporate technology services. This role provides leadership across infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and end‑user technology while partnering with business leaders to enable growth and improve operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's IT strategy and roadmap.
- Establish technology standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Align technology investments with business priorities and growth objectives.
- Lead management of cloud platforms, networks, servers, endpoints, and collaboration technologies.
- Ensure the availability, performance, security, and scalability of enterprise technology services.
- Oversee disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational support functions.
- Drive system integration, automation, and process improvements.
- Partner with business leaders to identify and implement technology solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Evaluate and drive the adoption of AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation across the enterprise.
- Maintain enterprise cybersecurity programs and lead risk management, incident response, and security operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and manage IT budgets, contracts, and vendors.
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in information technology.
- Proven success developing and executing technology strategies.
- Experience leading cloud, infrastructure, enterprise applications, and cybersecurity programs.
- Demonstrated experience building, leading, and developing high‑performing IT teams.
- Experience managing technology budgets, vendor relationships, and strategic technology investments.
- Strong understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Experience leading technology modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
- Ability to evaluate, implement, and support technologies that improve business performance, efficiency, and scalability.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in engineering, construction, energy, manufacturing, industrial, or other asset‑intensive industries.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, cloud platform, or cybersecurity certifications.
- Experience evaluating and implementing AI/ML‑driven solutions within a regulated environment.
- Track record of developing enterprise AI governance policies and responsible AI adoption frameworks.
Estimated Salary
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $220,000 – $255,000 annually. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
