Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Kearney, NE

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Minimum of 2 holidays within contract period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with a 1:4–5 nurse-to-patient ratio, serving adult patients with diagnoses including cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory conditions, stroke, post-stent, post-pacer placement, and renal failure
• Titrate drips including Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
• Manage and troubleshoot arterial lines and high-flow oxygen equipment
• Read and interpret telemetry/cardiac monitor strips independently
• Float as needed to Med/Surg or ICU (for PCU-acuity patients)
• Maintain a strong focus on patient experience, responsiveness, communication about medications, and hospital environment standards

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated competency with arterial lines
• Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Ability to titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required as a condition of contract

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or IMC setting
• Experience caring for culturally diverse patient populations
• Flexibility and adaptability with scheduling and unit needs
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to accept and incorporate feedback
