Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overall operational leadership, including
performance, scalability, profitability, and service delivery across title, escrow, agency, and underwriting
operations.
This role oversees multi-state operations, including agency networks and direct title/escrow businesses,
while partnering closely with executive leadership, technology, underwriting, and business development
teams. The COO will drive operational consistency, growth strategies, and continuous improvement
across all markets.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
• Lead multi-state title, escrow, and underwriting operations across diverse regulatory environments
• Establish consistent workflows, service standards, and performance expectations
• Drive scalability, efficiency, and accountability across all business units

Strategy & Growth
• Partner with executive leadership to define and execute growth strategies
• Support expansion into new markets, including buildout of operations, staffing, and compliance
• Develop and strengthen agency and direct operational channels

Technology & Process Optimization
• Partner with technology teams to improve systems, workflows, and integrations
• Drive automation and scalable solutions across operational platforms
• Use data and performance metrics to improve efficiency and decision-making

Agency & Direct Operations
• Oversee agency relationships, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance management
• Establish production goals, service standards, and compliance requirements
• Lead development of direct title and escrow operations in key markets

Financial & Performance Management
• Own operational budgets, forecasts, and profitability targets
• Track and improve key metrics such as revenue per file, pull-through rates, productivity, and customer satisfaction
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while improving service delivery

Risk & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and underwriting standards
• Partner with legal and compliance teams to manage operational risk
• Implement controls, audit processes, and best practices across operations

Leadership & Culture
• Build and lead high-performing operational teams
• Establish a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement
• Align teams across regions and functions to support company objectives

Qualifications
• 7+ years of leadership experience in title insurance, escrow, or related real estate services
• Strong knowledge of title, underwriting, and closing operations across multiple states
• Experience managing both agency-based and direct operations preferred
• Proven ability to scale operations, improve processes, and drive financial performance
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Comfortable working with technology platforms and operational systems

• Remote role with regular travel as needed
