Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Maintenance TechnicianAs a Maintenance Technician with Avient, you are responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair and/or maintain all equipment in good operating condition as quickly and accurately as possible; while keeping associated costs to a minimum to help meet Plant goals. To be successful in this role you should be multi-skilled and able to contribute to plant maintenance activities in a variety of craft disciplines.ResponsibilitiesWe know your time is valuable so please see below for our pay range and our biweekly shift schedule!Pay Range: $29-$32.50/hourWeek 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 3:00am-3:30pmWeek 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 3:00am-3:30pm and Thursday 3:00am-11:30amEssential FunctionsTroubleshoots mechanical devices in operation. Dismantles and examines devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Adjusts, repairs or replaces defective parts.Sets up and operates shop machinery such as lathe, drill press, grinders, band saws, cutting torch, welder. etc. Uses hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts and equipment.Installs new or repairs/modifies hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.Completes projects with minimal guidance showing a proactive attitude to minimizing equipment down time and lost production capability.Improves reliability and uptime of all equipment. Takes a proactive approach to equipment issues with a preventive maintenance mentality.Operates forklift and hydraulic working platform as needed.Researches supplies, parts and tools needed to complete work orders.Assists in identifying and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts.Contributes to upkeep and updating of required paperwork such as records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, PM logs, etc.Performs and documents work orders and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.Supports the vision, purpose, and strategic strengths of the company.Follows applicable Safety, Health, and Environmental rules and guidelines while performing any procedure.Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.Other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School diploma, General Education Diploma (GED)Technical School degree or equivalent experienceWork experience in an industrial operations environment preferredAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manualsMust have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must have the ability to use conversions, work with different units such as weight, volume, density, distance, etc.Physical DemandsRequires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking and listeningMust be able to walk and use hands.
