Specialty Care Outpatient NurseThe Specialty Care Outpatient Nurse is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based specialty care to assigned patients and oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants, as appropriate to the clinic setting. He/She provides patient care, care coordination, health promotion, health education and coaching on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management. You may be expected to travel for this position to other sites or training facilities care, including OPCs and CBOCs as appropriate to patient care or service needs. Duties include but are not limited to:Works in multiple clinics and has specialized skills to include Allergy, Arthritis, Cardiology, Dermatology, Diabetes, Hepatology, Infectious Disease, Neurology, and more.Integrates specialty care knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgment and is self-directed in goal setting for managing complex outpatient situations.Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.Assists in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization.Influences outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.Responsible for providing competent, evidence-based specialty care to patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the clinic setting.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package:VA Nurse Total RewardsPay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awardsPaid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VAInsurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territoryWork Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor.
