Job Title: Warehouse Operator

Job Description

The Warehouse Operator plays a key role in receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming materials while ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely availability for production. This position uses SAP and other inventory tools to maintain precise records, supports procurement and production planning, and contributes to an efficient, well-organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sign for raw material deliveries in a timely and accurate manner.
• Check deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips to confirm correct quantities, item descriptions, and pricing.
• Inspect incoming materials to ensure quality conformance and identify any damage or defects.
• Receive materials in SAP and upload all related documents to Basecamp to maintain complete and accurate records.
• Collaborate with procurement staff to list and track expected deliveries and resolve any discrepancies.
• Receive shipments and complete all required paperwork upon receipt.
• Unload packages from incoming trucks using appropriate material handling equipment, such as forklifts.
• Inspect shipment contents to ensure they are undamaged and meet quality standards.
• Verify packages against orders and invoices, including quantity, quality, and price.
• Contact suppliers or shippers promptly when mistakes or discrepancies are identified.
• Assume responsibility for arranging the return of unsatisfactory shipments or coordinating replacements.
• Label deliveries clearly and allocate materials to their designated storage locations.
• Ensure invoices for satisfactory deliveries are signed and processed for payment in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of all received materials and assist with overall inventory control.
• Perform cycle count inventory in accordance with the monthly cycle count schedule.
• Collaborate with the Inventory Specialist to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Coordinate with Purchasing on immediate inventory needs to support ongoing operations.
• Notify Production Planning of any inventory shortages that may affect production scheduling.
• Notify the Inventory Specialist of any under- or over-usage of materials to support accurate inventory management.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including preparing outbound shipments and verifying documentation as needed.
• Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse and manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

• Experience with SAP for material receiving and inventory transactions.
• Hands-on experience in shipping and receiving operations.
• Proficiency in inventory control, including cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
• Ability to perform material handling tasks, including unloading trucks and moving materials safely.
• Forklift operation skills and experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes related to warehouse operations.
• Strong attention to detail when verifying deliveries against purchase orders and invoices.
• Ability to inspect materials and shipments for quality and damage.
• Competence in maintaining accurate records and performing data entry for inventory management.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with procurement, inventory specialists, purchasing, and production planning.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing warehouse environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, for documentation and communication.
• Familiarity with FedEx shipping processes and other freight carriers.
• logistics, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and organization.
• Strong organizational skills to label, allocate, and track materials effectively.
• Comfort with using digital tools such as Basecamp or similar platforms for document management.

Work Environment

This role is based in a climate-controlled, fast-paced manufacturing facility with an active warehouse environment. You will regularly work with SAP and other inventory systems, handle materials and freight, and use equipment such as forklifts to unload and move shipments. The setting emphasizes safety, organization, and efficiency, with a structured workflow that supports production and supply chain activities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
