Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while embracing the core values of Select Medical, including a strong emphasis on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to formulate individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs based on the nursing admission assessment, collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patients' responses accurately and timely according to hospital policy.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on patient education to support health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and commence patient teaching in anticipation of the discharge date.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing staff, organizing tasks and setting priorities effectively.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in team building activities and contribute to a positive unit environment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the orientation period.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience post-graduation.
• Experience in Stepdown, ICU, or LTAC settings is required.

Schedule

This position operates on a day shift schedule, with shifts of 3x12.0 hours.
