Role Description This full-time, on-site Accountant role is based in Rockaway, NJ. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, monitoring budgets and cost allocations, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. The role will also involve maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with audits and tax filings, and collaborating with operations and project teams to ensure proper recording of HVAC project expenses and revenues. The Accountant will work closely with management to provide financial reports and insights that support business decisions and compliance with applicable regulations. Qualifications Strong proficiency in general accounting principles, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger management, and financial reporting. Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and project-based accounting, preferably in construction, engineering, or related industries. Hands‑on experience with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid skills in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and present financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders. Ability to work on‑site in Rockaway, NJ, and maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial data and company records. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
