Quality Inspector

DRYTECH INC

Benefits: 401(k) Health insurance Paid time off Location: Cookstown, NJ Department: Quality Assurance Reports To: Quality Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary Drytech Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, mechanically inclined Quality Inspector to support the manufacture of precision products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections of components, assemblies, and finished products to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, customer requirements, work instructions, and Drytech's AS9100 Quality Management System. This is a hands‑on manufacturing quality position. The successful candidate should be comfortable working directly with manufactured components, engineering drawings, precision measuring equipment, production personnel, engineers, and quality documentation. Previous aerospace or manufacturing inspection experience is preferred; however, Drytech will consider mechanically inclined candidates with strong attention to detail and the aptitude to learn precision inspection techniques. About Drytech Drytech Inc., located in Cookstown, New Jersey adjacent to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, designs and manufactures moisture-control and air-purification products used in demanding aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. Our products include desiccators, molecular sieve filters, dehydrators, humidity indicators, and other engineered moisture-control systems supplied to the U.S. Department of Defense and major aerospace and defense contractors. Drytech operates under an AS9100 Rev D Quality Management System, with a strong emphasis on product quality, traceability, configuration control, documentation, and customer satisfaction. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of purchased components, manufactured parts, assemblies, and finished products. Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, bills of material, acceptance criteria, and customer requirements. Perform dimensional and visual inspections using precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, scales, fixtures, and other inspection and test equipment. Operate specialized product inspection and test equipment, including airflow, pressure, heat, and other functional test equipment as required. Verify dimensional tolerances, workmanship requirements, material requirements, product configuration, and other specified acceptance criteria. Accurately complete inspection reports, travelers, test records, acceptance documentation, and other quality records. Maintain clear and accurate objective evidence demonstrating product conformity and inspection completion. Verify that measurement and test equipment is within its required calibration period prior to use. Identify, document, label, and segregate nonconforming material in accordance with Drytech procedures. Initiate or support Nonconformance Reports and Material Review Board (MRB) activities when required. Communicate inspection findings and quality concerns to Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality personnel. Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and documentation in accordance with AS9102 requirements. Verify product identification, serialization, lot control, material traceability, and configuration requirements. Ensure proper identification and control of customer-supplied and government-furnished property when applicable. Follow Foreign Object Debris/Damage (FOD) prevention requirements throughout manufacturing and inspection areas. Support internal audits, customer audits, regulatory audits, and DCMA source inspections by providing accurate inspection records and objective evidence. Assist Engineering and Quality personnel with root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations related to inspection findings and nonconforming product. Identify recurring quality issues and communicate opportunities for process and product improvement. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection and manufacturing environment. Follow all applicable safety procedures and required PPE when working around manufacturing equipment, chemicals, adhesives, cleaning agents, and other production materials. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand how mechanical components and assemblies fit and function together. Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently identify small dimensional, workmanship, or documentation discrepancies. Ability to follow detailed written procedures, drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Ability to accurately document inspection results and maintain organized quality records. Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn Drytech's electronic quality and manufacturing systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with Production, Engineering, and Quality personnel. Willingness to complete required internal training, qualification, and certification programs. Preferred Qualifications The following experience is preferred but not required: 2-5 years of Quality Inspection experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, automotive, medical device, or another precision manufacturing environment. Experience working within an AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Experience reading engineering drawings and interpreting dimensional tolerances. Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, inspection fixtures, and other precision measurement equipment. Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements. Experience with nonconforming material, MRB, corrective action, and root cause investigation processes. Experience with ERP, MRP, MES, or electronic quality management systems. Experience performing inspection or documentation activities for Department of Defense or aerospace customers. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Stand, walk, bend, reach, and work around manufacturing equipment throughout the workday. Handle and inspect small components and precision assemblies. Safely lift and move materials weighing up to approximately 35 pounds. Work with or around adhesives, cleaning agents, manufacturing chemicals, compressed air, machinery, and other typical manufacturing processes. Wear required personal protective equipment when applicable. Quality & Compliance Responsibilities Follow Drytech's AS9100 Quality Management System and all applicable procedures. Maintain accurate, complete, and traceable quality records. Protect product integrity and never accept or release product that does not meet documented requirements. Immediately identify and communicate suspected nonconforming conditions. Maintain independence and objectivity when making product acceptance decisions. Support continuous improvement and corrective action activities. Maintain strict adherence to documented processes, configuration requirements, and customer specifications. Defense & Regulatory Environment Because Drytech manufactures products for U.S. aerospace and defense applications, employees may work with information, products, or technical data subject to U.S. Government contractual and export-control requirements. Candidates must be legally eligible to work with applicable ITAR-controlled technical data and products as required by the position. The position may also require participation in customer, government, or regulatory inspections and audits. What We're Looking For The ideal Quality Inspector is someone who takes pride in getting things right. Meticulous – notices details others may overlook. Mechanically inclined – understands how parts, assemblies, and manufacturing processes work. Accountable – takes ownership of inspection decisions and documentation. Consistent – follows the same requirements regardless of schedule or production pressure. Curious – asks questions when something does not look or measure correctly. Organized – maintains accurate records and a disciplined inspection area. Team-oriented – works effectively with Production and Engineering while maintaining the independence required of Quality. Willing to learn – continuously develops inspection, measurement, drawing interpretation, and quality-system knowledge. At Drytech, Quality Inspection is more than checking parts at the end of the manufacturing process. Our inspectors are an integral part of ensuring that products used in mission‑critical aerospace and defense applications meet the requirements of our customers every time. #J-18808-Ljbffr DRYTECH INC
