As a Phlebotomist, you will be the vital link between patients and the laboratory, ensuring high-quality, accurate blood specimen collection. Responsibilities:

Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary puncture from diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures, ensuring accuracy and integrity.

Explain procedures clearly and empathetically to patients to foster trust and reduce anxiety.

Maintain meticulous records of specimen collection, labeling, and processing in compliance with regulatory standards.

Follow all safety, infection control, and confidentiality protocols in a professional setting.

Perform specimen processing duties, including data entry and specimen organization, in a timely manner.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors by supporting team initiatives and striving for process excellence.

Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment at all times.

Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and patients, contributing to a positive workplace atmosphere.

Required Skills:

Minimum of 2 years of recent, hands-on phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Excellent phlebotomy skills with a focus on accuracy, safety, and patient comfort.

Exceptional customer service skills, able to handle diverse patient needs with empathy.

Proficiency in data entry and computer skills, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.

Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.

Flexibility to work scheduled shifts including weekdays, every other Saturday, holidays, and on-call as needed.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Valid phlebotomy certification (required in California, Nevada, Washington).

Nice to Have Skills:

Medical assistant or paramedic training or certification.

Experience working in a busy clinical or retail healthcare environment.

Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and specimen handling procedures.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certification in phlebotomy highly preferred.

Previous experience working in a hospital, medical center, or clinical laboratory setting.

Other Requirements:

Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite (personal vehicle preferred; public transportation, rideshare, or drop-offs not considered reliable).

Availability to work Monday through Friday, with every other Saturday shift.

Ability to consistently arrive on time and stay for the entire scheduled shift.

Must be comfortable working in a professional healthcare environment, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Physical ability to perform blood draws and stand for extended periods.

Compliance with all required certifications, licensure, and safety protocols.
