The contract duration is for 13 weeks. The shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. This unit offers critical care for pediatric patients. The unit consists of 19 beds, with 10 designated for intensive care. Staffing includes a mix of nurses and charge nurses on day and night shifts. The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2 for PICU, 1:3 for intermediate care, and 1:5 for pediatric patients. Various procedures performed on this unit include lumbar punctures, intubations, and chest tube placements. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to adapt to different situations and work well within a team. Ideal candidates should be receptive to constructive criticism and eager to grow professionally. The dress code requires galaxy blue scrubs. This unit provides a foundation of pediatric care, ranging from non-critical to critical patient needs.
