Job Details Location: 1000 Harbor Blvd, Weehawken Township, NJ 07086 Camp Dates: 6/22/2026 (Mon) – 8/28/2026 (Fri) (includes one weekend to set up, one weekend to break down, and an orientation date) Camp Hours: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm (actual shifts will vary) Hourly Wage: $19.25 – $21.75 per hour. Responsibilities The job in a nutshell is to help run all facets of a self‑directed camp. While working alongside one of our Directors, you’ll build relationships with hundreds of parents and children, help them overcome fears, discover passions, and find their groove at Steve & Kate’s. You’ll train, lead, and inspire a team and oversee day‑to‑day operations to keep things running smoothly and safely. You will manage camp operations alone when the Director is not on site, including opening or closing. This role serves as a training ground and pipeline for future Directors. Key Responsibilities Facilitate activities, build connections, and monitor safety and wellness. Some staff create and/or oversee activity spaces where campers self‑select activities; others work in rotating support roles. Potential activity areas include sewing, stop‑motion animation, maker space, performing arts, arts & crafts, lounging, recreation, and more. Additional Responsibilities Actively supervise campers. Maintain an organized and approachable activity space. Ensure compliance with Camp Policies. Report and record details of concerns, incidents, and injuries. Track and be aware of camper allergies and dietary restrictions. Add daily updates and photos to campers’ profiles. Can you multitask while staying calm, level‑headed, and nice? Do you have the stamina to keep up with 4–12 year‑old campers and lift up to 30 pounds? Are you passionate about sharing knowledge and learning new things, even from a 3rd‑grader in the sewing studio? Job Requirements At least 21 years old with a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two months of camp experience or one year in education or child‑care setting required. Accepting an offer authorizes Steve & Kate's to contact you by email or text. May be asked to chaperone campers on off‑site field trips. Additional Requirements Past management or leadership experience preferred. On‑site camp management is physically demanding; extended time on feet, outside, and occasional physical exertion. Preferred: Meets local Camp Director qualifications or former Steve & Kate's Camp employee. Physical Requirements Maintain and follow all safety and health rules of the location. Organize and keep activity spaces clean and accessible. Assist in camp set‑up and breakdown during move‑in and move‑out weekends.
