Sr Director of Business Development

Sr Business Development Director West Coast US MPA has been retained by a CRO to recruit for a Sr Business Development Director to join their West Coast team. The CRO run early-phase studies, bioequivalence testing, validate new drugs and provide regulatory support for pharmaceutical companies. Responsibilities and Duties To promote and sell BioPharma’s early-stage clinical services and meet and/or exceed established sales targets. Build and establish long-term client relationships. Develop and execute Account Plans for key clients in the industry. Liaise with Contracts and Proposals to manage and approve all Budget Proposals submitted in response to RFPs/RFIs received and generated. Attend and/or organize key industry conferences and client events (5-10 meetings per calendar year). Report key opportunities and sales pipeline to the EVP of Commercial Operations. Assist the EVP of Commercial Operations in forming and executing business development strategies and plans for development and promotion of new and current service offerings. Provide marketing intelligence and marketing support. Ensure compliance with appropriate BioPharma’s SOP’s, GCP and ICH guidelines. Qualifications Completed postsecondary degree or diploma in a healthcare related discipline or equivalent work experience. 5+ years solid technical, projectmanagementor sales experience in the CRO industry; experience with selling clinical services (Phase I-IV) preferred. Knowledge of CRO industry and drug development process. Established client contacts in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Self-starter, highly motivated, capable to execute and deliver. Proven ability todevelop and build andmaintaineffective and long-lasting business relationships. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal, presentationand negotiation skills are essential. Solid and proven project management experience; ability to handle multipleprojects of a complex nature; strong attention to detail and exceptional follow-upskills; solid organization skills with capacity to prioritize and problem solve. Ability to manage client visits from beginning to end, ensuring professional image isalways maintained, and businessobjectivesare met. Strong teamand customer service orientation with ability to work in a fast paced,growing environment. Ability tomaintaininformation in confidence and exercise good judgment. Demonstrated technical competence with MS Word, Project, PowerPoint, Excel,Outlook, and Salesforce.com or similar CRM database.
