Journeyman Plumber - Commercial & Industrial

Location: Kalamazoo, MI

Pay Range: $32.00-$42.00/hour (DOE)

About the Opportunity

We're seeking a licensed Journeyman Plumber to join our commercial mechanical team serving Kalamazoo and surrounding areas . You'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing systems in commercial and industrial facilities while working alongside HVAC, piping, and mechanical crews.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and layout drawings
• Install piping, valves, fittings, fixtures, and related plumbing components
• Troubleshoot and repair leaks, clogs, damaged piping, and faulty fixtures
• Perform preventative maintenance on commercial plumbing systems
• Work with copper, PVC/CPVC, cast iron, and other piping materials
• Perform soldering and brazing as required
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national plumbing codes
• Coordinate scheduling and materials with supervisors and other trades
• Complete daily timesheets, material logs, and as-built documentation
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Journeyman Plumber License required
• 3-5+ years of commercial or industrial plumbing experience
• Proficiency with copper, PVC/CPVC, cast iron, soldering, and brazing
• Knowledge of backflow systems, grease traps, and commercial water heaters
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined or wet environments
• Ability to pass required background check and drug screening
