About the Role
The Forklift Operator supports inventory control, quality assurance, and operational efficiency within a distribution center. This position involves operating material handling equipment, performing cycle counts, verifying product quality, and maintaining accurate inventory records in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The role requires attention to detail, physical capability to lift and move heavy loads, and collaboration with team members to uphold safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport products within the distribution center
• Perform daily cycle counts and complete full inventory audits to ensure system accuracy using Warehouse Management System (WMS)
• Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical counts and WMS records
• Monitor product movement and transactions, ensuring proper documentation and system updates
• Assist with inventory adjustments, transfers, and returns processing
• Conduct routine quality inspections on inbound and outbound shipments
• Verify product labeling, packaging, and documentation for compliance with quality standards
• Identify damaged, defective, or non-conforming products and initiate corrective actions
• Collaborate with warehouse leadership on quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain quality logs and documentation for reporting and compliance purposes
• Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational accuracy and efficiency
• Ensure proper storage and handling practices during product movement
• Assist in root cause analysis related to inventory shrinkage or quality issues
• Follow safety protocols, including lifting up to 75 pounds, and work in varying temperatures and noise levels

Required Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment
• Proficiency with Warehouse Management System (WMS)
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds regularly and transport up to 20 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and report generation
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Authorized to work in the United States and able to complete E-Verify documentation
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts (additional experience is a plus)
• Ability to work in a distribution center environment with exposure to varying temperatures, heights, and moderate noise
• Dependable, proactive, and team-oriented mindset
