Safety Coordinator - Manufacturing - Middlefield, CT

- Own safety and quality across the plant-real impact, real authority
- Highly visible role reporting directly to company leadership
- Lead and support plantwide safety initiatives to maintain OSHA and CONNOSHA compliance
- Coordinate and administer safety programmes including PPE, LOTO, forklift safety, machine guarding, and emergency procedures
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and production floor walkthroughs
- Identify hazards and partner with leadership on corrective actions and prevention strategies
- Maintain OSHA logs, incident reports, safety records, and compliance documentation
- Support manufacturing quality systems, inspections, and product verification processes
- Analyse trends related to defects, scrap, rework, and customer complaints
- Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Coordinate and deliver employee training for safety, quality, and manufacturing compliance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, 7S, and visual workplace standards
- Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and compliance reviews
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline preferred
- 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing safety, quality, or industrial compliance roles
- OSHA 30Hour General Industry certification (required)
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 standards
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, and corrective actions
- Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems and root cause methodologies
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience preferred
- Strong documentation, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to influence shopfloor teams and drive accountability
