Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric nursing care to patients during labor and delivery.

• Monitor maternal and fetal status, promptly responding to changes and emergencies.

• Maintain sterile technique and ensure infection control throughout procedures.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop and update care plans.

• Document all interventions accurately in electronic health records.

• Adhere to hospital policies and regulatory standards, including safety protocols.

• Provide timely triage and prioritize cases based on urgency and outcomes.

• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postnatal care.

• Demonstrate initiative in professional development and pursue certifications as applicable.

• Identify and address potential risks using evidence-based practices and pipelines.

• Support postnatal recovery, lactation support, and discharge planning.

• Maintain high visibility of work activities through accurate progress updates and reports.

Experience/Qualifications

• BSN with current RN license and OB nursing certification (CNOR preferred).

• Proven ob-gyn/OB nursing experience in labor, delivery, and postnatal care.

• Ability to monitor maternal/fetal status and respond to emergencies with protocols.

• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control standards.

• Accurate documentation in electronic health records and progress reporting.

• Strong triage skills to prioritize cases based on urgency and outcomes.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop and update care plans.

• Patient and family education on labor, delivery, lactation, and postnatal care.

• Commitment to continuous professional development and pursuit of certifications.

• Identify and address risks using evidence-based practices; participate in quality improvement.
