Saw FilerWeyerhaeuser's Greenville Lumber Mill in Grifton, NC, has an opening for a Saw Filer with industrial experience. This position offers a starting pay rate of $20.87 per hour, along with a competitive benefits package. This position operates on a rotating schedule, with employees alternating between one week of day shifts and one week of night shifts. Day shift hours are 5:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and night shift hours are 5:30 PM to 4:30 AM. Candidates must be flexible and available to work both shifts. All candidates must be safety-conscious, self-motivated, possess strong communication skills, have experience working collaboratively with multiple crafts and departments, and thrive in a team-oriented, market-focused environment. Candidates selected for this position will bench and grind band saws, hammer and sharpen carbide saws, troubleshoot and maintain filing equipment, and align sawmill equipment.Key Functions: The Saw Filer will be responsible for filing room activities consisting of, but not limited to: Participate in safety meetings and activities as determined by team and mill norms and standards Benching and fitting bandsaws Sharpening, tipping and benching round saws Honing and maintaining knives Pour babbit, maintenance of guides and maintaining guide plane Complete PMs for sawmill and saw shop machinery as required Participate in reliability task teams or activities as required Help coach apprentices/operators to learn saw filing trade and help with PMs
