Facilities Manager

MINISTRY PURPOSE: Oversee all building related activities and ensure that facilities are operational, safe, clean, and prepared for services and ministry activities. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY (Weekdays): Oversee custodial staff to ensure facilities are clean before and after ministry activities and other events. Maintain and order all cleaning supplies and equipment as needed. Coordinate all room use schedules for setup and teardown as required. Direct custodial staff for room setup and teardown and assist as needed. Manage and program HVAC/Lighting, Access Control Systems, and Security Systems for all buildings. Implement and oversee proper daily building opening/closing procedures. Coordinate and oversee the maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance of all building systems, performing repairs when appropriate and utilizing qualified contractors as needed. Schedule and oversee: annual inspections/testing for fire panel/sprinkler/emergency lighting/fire extinguishers and backflow prevention devices, bi annual HVAC filter changes and inspections, annual ice machine/water cooler and coffee water filter maintenance, and annual roof inspections. Ensure that grounds and parking lots are clean and well maintained. Oversee/manage landscape maintenance vendors. Monitor and set irrigation controllers for proper watering schedules. Monitor irrigation systems for leaks/breaks. Maintain interior and exterior building and directional signage. Work with Finance Department to establish and monitor all building and utilities related budgets; negotiate building related contracts with vendors for best pricing and terms. Assist Security Team as needed; oversee video camera systems. Order supplies/equipment as needed for the Medical Team first aid bags and AEDs. Coordinate facility rental/use for outside events (weddings, funerals, recitals, etc.). Maintain building use and room fee schedules for rental and use. Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers for facility workdays and projects as appropriate. Respond to facility emergencies outside of normal work hours as reasonably available or coordinate appropriate vendor response. Participate as a member of the ministry team by supporting church wide events and performing other duties as assigned that further the mission of Desert View Bible Church. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY (Sundays): Working Hours: Sunday mornings, 7am 2pm (or as required by events/operations). Church Attendance: Facilities Manager is encouraged to attend one of the morning church services as desired. At other times (while not in service), Manager should be an active presence on campus walking buildings, available to troubleshoot problems, coordinating with Security Team and other volunteer teams as needed. Coordinate with Security Team as needed use of golf cart, radios, supplies, etc. Ensure that grounds, parking lots, and play area(s) are clean and presentable. Blow off sidewalks and other hardscape as needed. Ensure no hazards in parking lots/driveways/fire lanes. Before services begin, walk through campus to ensure everything is in order. Correct any issues noticed (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) or notify proper parties as needed. Unlock doors as required before volunteers/congregation arrives. Ensure that lights are on in all areas and buildings are ready for use. After services, ensure that all food trash is removed from all buildings and placed in dumpster.
