How you will make an impact This is a professional position specializing in counseling, casework, and administrative activities in Licensing, responsible for inspecting and licensing programs for childcare, substance abuse, or foster and community care. What you will do Conduct on‑site inspections for programs to monitor compliance with Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code licensing standards, maintaining a tracking system to ensure timely inspections and required annual counts. Process and review initial and renewal applications, including background‑screening clearances and required training. Investigate licensing violations and complaints, prepare reports, and initiate administrative action as required by statute or administrative code. Qualifications Child Welfare Certification from FCB preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in child welfare. Minimum of 1 year’s experience in foster home licensing preferred. Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Pro, Florida Safe Family Network (FSFN), and internet usage. Willingness to travel throughout the region is preferred. Preferences Bachelor’s degree in a social services related area of study, such as Human Services, Education, Human Science, Law, Behavioral Sciences, Human Development, Psychology, Sociology, Public Administration, Community Development, Health Science, or Political Science. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of theories and practice in child protection and family support, and professional ethics relating to child protection and counseling. Knowledge of family‑centered interviewing and counseling techniques, ability to consider child development (foster care) in guiding placement of children, and employing family‑centered practice. Skill in organizing community resources to assist families. Ability to recognize indicators of abuse and neglect and conduct risk and safety investigations.
