Job Summary Provides clinical patient care by initiating and administering appropriate treatment, progressing patient treatment as needed, and managing a patient load that aligns with productivity standards. Accurately evaluates patients, plans suitable treatments, sets and achieves functional goals, and adjusts treatment programs as goals are met. Offers instruction to patients, family members, and other healthcare providers. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients and families. Competence in reading, analyzing, and interpreting professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Basic computer knowledge for data input and reporting. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Effective reasoning ability and adaptability. Essential Functions And Responsibilities Provide clinical patient care by initiating and administering appropriate treatment, progressing patient treatment as needed, and managing a patient load that aligns with productivity standards. Accurately evaluate patients, plan appropriate treatments, set and meet functional goals, and revise treatment programs as goals are met. Maintain appropriate treatment records and complete accurate daily patient charges. Ensure patient records are completed in a timely manner. Maintain technical expertise by attending and participating in continuing education activities and departmental in-services. Provide instruction to patients, family members, and other healthcare providers, following care path guidelines for patient/family education and documentation of home programs. Assist with daily operations and prioritize daily work assignments. Delegate tasks to support personnel as appropriate. Assist with training new employees and provide support to observers, volunteers, and students as requested. Decision Making Responsible for carrying out non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in accordance with general instructions from a supervisor. Working Relationships Coordinate activities with others without supervising. Lead others in the same work performed without supervising. Provide input on performance evaluations but do not prepare or deliver them. Work directly with patients and customers, both internally and externally, through telephone or face-to-face interactions.
