Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $2,212 per week

Position Summary Travel Nurse RN – Labor and Delivery (13-week assignment) Start Date: June 1 2026 Location: Facility in Indianapolis, Indiana 36-hour per week, 12-hour night shifts. Responsibilities Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing Qualifications At least one year recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification (preferred) STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA/ARC) (preferred) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Skills Critical thinking, customer service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills Proficient reading, writing, and PC skills in English Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), and perform fine motor tasks Interpersonal skills to work with a variety of personnel and maintain professionalism Mental resilience to work under pressure and irregular schedules Vision and visual acuity to effectively communicate Benefits Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first day coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) after 1560 hours Life and short-term disability 401(k) matching Refer-a-friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Other Duties Disclaimer To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
