PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Performs any combination of following duties to raise, place, and unite girders, columns, and other structural-steel members to form completed structures or structure frameworks, working as member of crew.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Sets up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members.
• Signals worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel member.
• Guides member, using tag line (rope)
• Aligns bolt holes in member with corresponding holes in previously placed

member by driving drift pins or handle of wrench through holes. * Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members, using plumb bob and level. * Bolts aligned members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place.

• Cuts and welds steel members to make alterations.
• Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all

necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards. * Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

* Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.

• A general knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Must be able to complete the NCCER certification for your craft.
• Completed the Matrix Service Safety training and Client / Site specific

training. * To obtain and maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program.

PHYSICAL REQQUIREMENTS:

* Employees will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.

• Will talk and hear to communicate
• Must have good dexterity with hands and fingers to perform the precision

adjustments of machinery parts and controls. * Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls and tools.

• May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
• Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off

of platforms. Will work at heights up to 300' utilizing proper fall protection. * Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision. * Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind; and must be able to work for long periods of time up to 12 hours a day. * Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots. The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, the actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.
