Job title: Kitchen Manager / Chef

Ain't Normal is looking for a Kitchen Manager / Chef to lead our kitchen. You'll own menu execution, day-to-day operations, and team leadership — with real room to shape how the kitchen runs.

Requirements:

• California Food Protection Manager Certification (CFPM) — or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire
• Proven kitchen leadership experience (sous chef, kitchen manager, or CDC level)
• Available for full-time hours, including weekends, mornings, and afternoons
• Valid driver's license preferred

What you bring:

• A hands-on leader who can manage the team and oversee daily kitchen operations
• Experience with both pastry and savory cooking
• Strong organizational skills — ordering, inventory, and food cost management
• Comfortable training and developing staff, and enforcing food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
• Collaborative — able to work directly with ownership on menu development and seasonal offerings
• Comfortable working with seasonal, high-quality ingredients and adjusting menus accordingly
• A team player who communicates clearly with staff and management

Physical requirements:

• Able to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items up to 50 lbs
• Manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow oral/written instructions
