Join a locum tenens Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery assignment offering a 4x10 weekday schedule with 24-hour beeper call and a mix of clinic, inpatient rounding, and OR responsibilities. This opportunity includes cardiovascular surgery experience, thoracic surgery exposure, and a collaborative APP environment in Portland, Oregon. What You’ll Do

• Provide coverage across inpatient and outpatient settings, including clinic, call, rounding, and operating room responsibilities.
• Assist with cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures as a first assist.
• Support a surgical caseload that includes VATS, open surgeries, and robotic procedures.
• Round on hospitalized patients as part of a collaborative APP team.
• Manage 24-hour beeper call, triaging concerns and escalating cases to surgeons as needed.
• Perform vein harvesting using Maquet equipment and open radial or harmonic scalpel techniques when applicable.
• Provide coverage across affiliated hospitals, clinics, and procedural areas as assigned.

What You Need

Required

• Active professional license
• DEA registration
• Board certification, if not within five years of residency
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Cardiovascular and thoracic surgery specialty experience
• Ability to participate in weekday coverage and required call

Preferred

• At least 5 years of recent cardiovascular surgery experience
• Thoracic surgery assist experience
• First-assist certification
• Experience with VATS, open surgery, robotic procedures, vein harvesting, and Maquet equipment
• Strong communication, flexibility, and teamwork skills

About the Assignment

You’ll support a leading facility in Portland, Oregon, working with a collaborative surgical team across clinic, inpatient, operating room, and minor procedure settings. The assignment includes daytime coverage with overnight beeper call and opportunities to contribute to cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care.
