Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Certified Patient Care Technician. This role involves providing compassionate, routine patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for patients and staff alike.
Job Summary As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform a variety of technical and direct care tasks including CPR, vital signs monitoring, telemetry, EKG acquisition, wound care, phlebotomy, and assisting with procedures. You will support patients with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and meal assistance, while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Key Responsibilities- Deliver direct patient care within the scope of NA-C licensure and delegated nursing tasks.
- Assist with patient transport, room turnover, and inventory management.
- Monitor patient conditions, respond promptly to call lights, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Document patient care accurately and assist with scheduling and transcribing physician orders.
- Participate actively in team efforts, including responding to emergency codes and supporting co-workers.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
- One to two years of patient care experience preferred, with acute care and telemetry experience a plus.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of patient care practices and ability to maintain required competencies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and professional demeanor.
- Ability to manage challenging situations while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records, telemetry equipment, and standard office software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Work Environment This is a 0.9 FTE day shift position (0600-1830) in a supportive healthcare setting serving a rural community in the Pacific Northwest.
