Registered Nurse

Profession: RN Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4x10 Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours (0700 to 1730) Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Acute care RN experience - Left and right diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization - Pacemaker and AICD implants - Loop recorders - Impellas

Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions.
• Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family.
• Evaluation: Monitors and documents the response to clinical interventions.
• Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs and as appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge.
• Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and appropriately communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
