About This Role
The Teacher will oversee daily operations, ensure a stimulating and safe classroom environment, and coordinate curriculum implementation. To meet the needs of children, they must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults. A strong understanding of child development is crucial for this role, and the ability to encourage social, emotional, and cognitive growth is essential. The Teacher must be able to effectively guide teacher assistants and resolve parental concerns, all while maintaining a positive team environment.
What You'll Do- Develop classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards to implement the educational curriculum
- Lead the teaching team by modeling and coaching, and encourage success through collaboration and support
- Plan and lead individual and group activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children
- Establish and maintain open communication with parents through regular updates, progress reports, and conferences
- Maintain compliance with all center policies and state regulations
- Ensure a healthy and safe classroom environment, adhering to standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities and adhere to safety standards
- Keep accurate records, forms, and files up to date
- Develop and maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
- A strong team player with high energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents).
- A deep understanding of child development and growth.
- Must be certified in Infant/child CPR and First Aid (obtained after hire) and clear a full background check.
- Requires the ability to move frequently, use hands and fingers, and handle objects; also may require kneeling, bending, or crawling.
- Excellent close-up and peripheral vision, color perception, and depth perception are necessary for this role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills.
