The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps performing arts and entertainment professionals, seeks a Manager, Glorya Kaufman Theater (GKT) to set the creative vision and oversee goal setting, fiscal management, operations and communications for the GKT and rehearsal room. Located in the heart of Hollywood, the Hollywood Arts Collective (HART) is a two‑building campus that offers affordable housing for artists and a community arts center embodying the Fund’s vision: supporting cultural vibrancy through economic security. The Rita Moreno Arts Building (RMAB) is home to the 71‑seat GKT, LA Contemporary Exhibitions, the LA County High School for the Arts, and the Phil and Monica Rosenthal Family Foundation Training Center. Responsibilities The Manager shall serve as GKT’s primary leader, managing operations, setting goals and priorities, and securing partnerships to offer high‑quality, affordable spaces to four primary audiences: Nonprofit theater, music, dance and screening renters Nonprofit partners providing performing arts education and experiences to underserved youth in Hollywood Internal Fund staff and RMAB partners LACE and LACHSA providing programming in the spaces Residents of the Cicely Tyson Building producing work or rehearsing in the spaces The Manager shall supervise theater staff, front‑of‑house personnel, per diem workers and the RMAB security vendor. The Manager shall develop robust working relationships with on‑site gallery partners LACE and LACHSA, TSA and RMAB property management and security, and any second‑floor office renters, ensuring the performance and rehearsal spaces integrate with the Hollywood Arts Collective’s mission. The Manager shall create and monitor a comprehensive, evolving theatre‑specific plan for compliance with city, state and federal health, safety and regulatory requirements. The Manager shall work with the Fund Advancement team to support ongoing operational or capital funding needs, report activity to the Glorya Kaufman Trust and the broader community, and collaborate with the Communications team to ensure robust messaging to the target audiences and partners. The Manager shall work with the Executive Director to deliver outreach, grow awareness of the facility and its community benefits to the Hollywood community and broader entertainment leaders, city council members, county supervisors, and other relevant state and local officials and agencies. The Manager shall develop and implement all policies and procedures related to booking the theatre and rehearsal space. The Manager shall oversee maintenance of the GKT, including oversight of all equipment and collaboration with property management to ensure a safe and well‑maintained space. The Manager shall represent The Entertainment Community Fund to community partners, including membership in relevant associations and presentations at community forums. The Manager shall oversee all required data management. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience, with a minimum of 5 years in theatre management. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proven experience in venues requiring community engagement, financial management and team building. Familiarity with theatrical equipment. Availability and willingness to work evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualities Interest in the intersection of diverse creative projects and community development. Experience in building facilities management. Understanding of a special‑needs population. About This Position This is a full‑time salaried position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s Western Region offices in Hollywood.
