Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in ICU, preferably in Level I or Level II Trauma centers License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS preferred Must-Have: Experience with CRRT and pulling sheaths; Level II trauma experience or above Description: Qualified candidates must have experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma center. The position involves working in a 16-bed ICU. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 2. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Preferred experience includes CRRT and proficiency in managing critical conditions. Common types of patients may include those undergoing CRRT, mass transfusions, and neuro surgeries. The role includes managing various bedside procedures and supports organ recovery procurement. RNs are required to titrate drips such as Precedex, pressors, anti-arrhythmics, and sedation medications. There is a 24/7 coverage by intensivists and hospitalists. Respiratory therapy is available in the ICU 24/7. RNs monitor tele strips; tele monitor techs are available for support. Self-scheduling is not guaranteed; scheduling is done 6 weeks in advance. Weekend and holiday shifts are required as part of the rotation. RNs may occasionally float to other units but will primarily serve in their designated roles. The position requires the ability to work in a dynamic acute care setting.
