Travel Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Sonography/Ultrasound

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with 2+ years of experience for a small hospital ultrasound department, requiring CA state license.

Small ultrasound department with three rooms and one portable machine

Average daily census of 6-12 patients

Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), with a variable schedule that may include a night shift

Weekend rotation required to help cover vacations

May be required to float between sister facilities within the same state

Uses GE ultrasound equipment and PACS system

Minimum of 2 years of experience required

BLS certification required

ARDMS AB, ARDMS OB/GYN certification required, RDMS in AB or OB required

ARDMS BR and RVT certifications preferred

CA state license required (license required if applicable)

Compact license must be in hand at time of submission, pending license accepted

Trauma Level I hospital experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Skills required include OB/GYN scanning across all trimesters, fetal anatomical survey, general abdominal ultrasound (abdominal aorta, appendix, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen), pediatric abdomen/pelvis

Experience with vascular studies including arterial graft studies, arterial mapping, carotid, Doppler studies, upper/lower extremity arterial and venous studies, renal artery duplex, and peripheral vascular resistance

Experience with renal/pelvic imaging including bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, and vaginal ultrasound

Experience with small parts imaging including breast cyst aspiration, breast ultrasound, superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid

Experience assisting with procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and ultrasound guided biopsy/fine needle aspiration

Experience scanning adult, ED, NICU, and neonate patients, along with portable exams

First-time travelers will be considered for this position

Black scrub color required

Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront

Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius

Former staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
