Physician Assistant - HIV Care Clinic / Infectious Disease

The HIV Care Clinic provides compassionate, patient-centered HIV diagnosis, comprehensive treatment, and support services including linkage to medical, psychological, and social resources.

Position Summary

The PA will deliver high-quality clinical care to people living with HIV and individuals at risk for HIV infection. This role includes comprehensive care delivery, preventive services (e.g., PrEP/PEP counseling), chronic disease management, coordination with specialty services, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide HIV care including diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and follow-up care

• Manage and treat patients with complex needs related to HIV and comorbid conditions

• Provide screening, counseling, and preventive interventions (PrEP, PEP, U=U education)

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (physicians, nursing staff, case managers, social workers)

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in electronic health records

• Participate in quality improvement activities and community outreach

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program

• Current licensure and prescriptive authority in New York State (PA)

• National board certification (A)

• Experience in primary care, infectious disease or HIV care preferred

• Strong clinical judgment and collaborative interdisciplinary skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HIV medicine and management of antiretroviral therapy

• Certification such as AAHIVE / HIV Specialist credentials or equivalent clinical HIV experience

• Knowledge of PrEP/PEP prescribing and HIV preventive strategies
