After School Group Leader

Job Description

After School Group LeaderGet Paid to Play, Lead & Make a Difference

Looking for a part-time job that's genuinely fun, works around your schedule, and makes a lasting impact?

At Kamaʻāina Kids , Hawaiʻi's largest locally owned nonprofit childcare provider and a Hawaii Top Workplace for five consecutive years , we're looking for energetic, dependable people who love working with children and want to turn weekday afternoons into something meaningful.

Part-Time | Windward Area
$18–$21/hour + Benefits for Part-Time Employees

This isn't your typical after-school job. One minute you might be leading a kickball game, helping with an art project, or building an epic LEGO creation. The next, you're encouraging a child who's struggling with homework or helping them make a new friend.

If you enjoy staying active, having fun, and making a difference, you might be exactly who we're looking for.

Your afternoons may include:

• Playing outdoor games and sports

• Leading arts, crafts, and STEM activities

• Helping with homework

• Organizing team challenges and group games

• Sharing your hobbies and interests with keiki

• Encouraging creativity, confidence, and friendships

• Making children laugh while helping them learn and grow

It's one of the few jobs where playing games, being active, and having fun are actually part of the job description.

• Monday-Friday afternoons (approximately 1:30 PM-5:30 PM)

• Early release Wednesdays (start around 12:30 PM)

• No evenings, weekends, or major holidays

• Ideal for college students, parents, retirees, and anyone seeking meaningful part-time work

• Up to 75% childcare discount

• Tuition assistance up to $1,000 per semester

• 401(k) with company match

• Paid training

• PTO and holiday pay (Your Birthday is a holiday!)

• Growth and advancement opportunities within Kamaʻāina Kids

Be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, positivity, and helping one another succeed. There's a reason we've been recognized as a Hawaii Top Workplace year after year.

As a Group Leader, you'll help create a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where children can learn, play, and thrive after school.

You'll:

• Lead recreational activities, games, and enrichment projects

• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play

• Support homework completion and academic success

• Encourage positive behavior and character development

• Foster friendships and inclusion among children

• Ensure children's safety and well-being

• Work alongside a fun and supportive team

Every afternoon is an opportunity to become a positive role model and someone a child looks forward to seeing.

We're not necessarily looking for childcare experience. We're looking for great people.

You might be a great fit if you're:

• Positive and enthusiastic

• Dependable and responsible

• Patient and encouraging

• Energetic and active

• Comfortable leading activities and engaging groups

• Passionate about making a difference in children's lives

• Must be at least 18 years old

• High School Diploma or GED

• Able to commute to Kailua or Kaneohe

Student Aide opportunities may be available for applicants under 18.

For many of our employees, this position is the highlight of their day. You get to leave work knowing you helped a child learn something new, build confidence, solve a problem, or simply have a great afternoon.

That's pretty rewarding.

Trade the cash register, cubicle, or boring shift for kickball, crafts, laughter, and making a difference.
