As a CNA, you will provide hands-on care in a skilled nursing environment while working alongside licensed nursing staff and an interdisciplinary team. You’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with residents while helping them maintain their dignity, independence, comfort, and quality of life.
What You’ll Do Provide compassionate, person-centered care based on each resident’s individualized care plan.
Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, eating, and other activities of daily living .
Assist with transfers, ambulation, repositioning, range of motion, and safe use of mobility and mechanical lift equipment.
Conduct regular resident safety rounds to promote comfort, safety, and well-being.
Monitor and record vital signs, weights, intake and output, and other assigned observations.
Observe residents for changes in physical, emotional, cognitive, or behavioral condition and promptly report concerns to the Charge Nurse.
Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests for assistance.
Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, meals, hydration, and feeding as needed.
Encourage residents to participate in recreational and therapeutic activities that promote quality of life.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care.
Help maintain clean, safe, and organized resident rooms, equipment, and common areas.
Stock resident care supplies and maintain clean utility areas as assigned.
Protect resident rights, privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and independence at all times.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
Immediately report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions according to facility policy and regulations.
Participate in shift report, care planning, meetings, in-services, and ongoing training.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of quality resident care.
What We’re Looking For Current, active CNA certification in the state of employment (West Virginia or Ohio).
Completion of an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Current CPR certification preferred or obtained within the required timeframe.
Previous geriatric or long-term care experience preferred.
Experience caring for residents with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other specialized populations preferred.
Ability to safely operate resident lift equipment and follow safe resident handling procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, patient, respectful, and dependable approach to resident care.
Ability to accurately complete required documentation.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing multiple priorities.
Successful completion of required state-mandated education, in-services, and competency requirements.
Ability to complete required TB and other health screenings.
