Responsible for providing welcoming, accurate, and efficient assistance to neighbors seeking food assistance through Weld Food Bank. Processes applications, determines program eligibility, maintains neighbor records, and ensures services are provided in accordance with Federal, State, and local requirements. Provides reception and customer service support, including answering questions, directing neighbors and visitors, and assisting with language access. Supports Everyday Eats (CSFP) and other Neighbor Services activities through outreach, certifications, distribution support, and other duties that promote accessible and respectful service to neighbors throughout Weld County.

Bi-lingual required.

Intake, certification, and service approval will be completed from various locations, including inside the main building, from the temporary trailer, remote locations, and by phone

Determine need and eligibility for services through Weld Food Bank.

Take and process applications for food assistance using the Oasis database, updating neighbor information when necessary.

Ensure neighbors have proper documentation for certification following Federal, State, and local regulations.

Record food distributions in database.

Track vehicles according to their service type at the main warehouse, ensuring each neighbor receives the correct distribution.

Greet neighbors and visitors, give instructions and direct them to the appropriate location

Monitor client waiting area, keep area tidy and organized

Answer telephone; answer questions and direct callers to other destinations

Send neighbor notices as required by CDHS and/or USDA.

Maintain electronic neighbor files

Make reminder calls and recruit clients as necessary to maintain caseload.

Provide translation for Spanish speaking neighbors. Review Spanish printed materials for accuracy.

Use translation service to communicate with neighbors speaking languages other than English or Spanish.

In the absence of the Neighbor Services Specialist, some offsite work may be required.

Visit individual homes to complete certifications for homebound neighbors as needed.

Conduct outreach throughout Weld County to promote Everyday Eats (CSFP) and maintain caseload.

Promote Everyday Eats throughout the county by presenting to various groups as needed.

Manage distribution of USDA foods at Mobile Food Pantry sites.

General office tasks including typing, copying, folding, stapling, laminating

Promote the mission of the Weld Food Bank.

Work cooperatively with staff and volunteers to promote a clean, safe, and positive work environment.

Other related duties as needed.

Hours (subject to change)

7:45 4:15 Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri

11:30 5:30 Wed

One Saturday each month (usually the 4th Saturday). Not required every month.

Off inventory days unless needed for special projects or for staff training and development

Other extended hours occasionally, as needed

May require occasional attendance at events outside regular hours
