Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the GROUND ELECTRONICS DIVISION of NAS KEY WEST. Learn more about this agency Duties Help
- You will maintain Air Traffic Control systems to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
- You will troubleshoot Air Traffic Control (ATC) electronic systems (e.g., communication, radar, and navigational-aid systems) to coordinate work efforts with technical personnel on matters affecting operational specifications of systems.
- You will perform routine procedures, calibration and testing of installation and maintenance of electronic assemblies.
- You will coordinate with all levels of personnel on techniques and methods to accomplish tasks, goals and objectives.
- You will evaluate employee work performances to identify employee developmental and training needs.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- The work may require considerable physical exertion such as climbing various structures and towers; lifting heavy objects weighing over 50 pounds, recurring crouching, stooping and stretching; working aloft on towers and other platforms.
- Working primarily daylight hours, incumbent is on -call, to provide guidance for senior technicians, during all hours of airfield operations.
- In both daylight and darkness, incumbent will be exposed to potentially dangerous situations such as working at heights above 50 feet, around high voltage or RF energy, or under environmental stress such as inclement weather.
- Incumbent must attend the SPECTRUM XXI training sponsored by the Joint Spectrum Center.
